Another Awkward Sunday Approaches…
by P. Braithwaite
And so, good friends, it seems that another Awkward Sunday is upon us, and I’m super excited. This is a marked difference from last month’s sermon which included nightmares, anxiety and self-doubt. Lots of self doubt.
What a difference a month makes. 🙂
Date: Sunday December 8th
Place: your cell phone***
For those of you who are new, The Awkward Sunday Sermon is a 20 minute telephone call where we find the spiritual lesson in pop culture confusion. Last month we looked at 50 Shades of Grey and the need to trust ourselves. Check it out here…
This month we’re going to be looking at the various ratings of Kanye West.
Yes. I said it. Kanye West.
Now, I have to admit, I, myself am kind of over Kanye’s incessant rants and ridiculousness. We get it Kanye, you’re a god, you’re a slave no one respects you, everyone loves you. Kim Kardashian is Mother Mary, and you’re a musical genius.
Groan…BUT…if I’m doing these Awkward Sunday Sermons with the premise that EVERYTHING has a spiritual lesson, than I guess I have to sit with my frustration and look for the wisdom in Kanye’s musings. I should mention that I do, in fact, think that Yeezus is a musical genius. It’s the talking and communicating part that he might want to refine.
So join me on Sunday, December 8th @ 7pm EST.
Last month, 17 people joined me on my first call. I’d LOVE to beat that if possible, so mark your calendars and invite some friends! I’m really hoping this catches on!
December 8th @ 7pm.
